Program Eligibility Criteria
To attract serious entrepreneurs, the NSNP uses a two-tiered financial requirement based on where you plan to establish your business. To qualify to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI), you must meet the following baseline criteria:

Requirement	Eligibility Criteria
Business Experience	You must have at least 3 years of experience actively managing and owning a business (minimum 33.3% ownership) OR more than 5 years of experience in a senior business management role within the last 10 years.
Net Worth	Minimum $600,000 CAD if the business is within the Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM), OR $400,000 CAD if located outside the HRM.
Minimum Investment	Minimum $150,000 CAD if the business is within the HRM, OR $100,000 CAD if located outside the HRM.
Ownership Stake	You must own at least one-third (33.33%) of the business equity.
Language Proficiency	A minimum score of CLB 5 in English or French across all four testing categories (speaking, listening, reading, writing).
Age & Education	You must be at least 21 years old and hold a minimum of a Canadian high school diploma or verified foreign equivalent (ECA required).

Application Requirements & Process
The NSNP Entrepreneur Stream is a highly competitive, multi-stage process that requires a significant investment of time, research, and due diligence:

1. Expression of Interest (EOI): You submit a profile outlining your business concept, experience, and financials into a points-based pool.
2. Invitation to Apply (ITA): If you score high enough, you will receive an invitation to submit a full application, which strictly requires a comprehensive Business Establishment Plan.
3. Business Performance Agreement: Approved applicants sign a legal agreement outlining their investment, job creation, and operational commitments.
4. Work Permit & Execution: You receive a temporary work permit to enter Canada and establish the business. You must assume active, daily management of the enterprise on-site in Nova Scotia.
5. Nomination for Permanent Residency: After successfully operating the business for at least one year and fulfilling your agreement, you can request a provincial nomination for permanent residency.
