The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) Entrepreneur Stream historically offered a pathway for business owners and executives to establish a new venture or purchase an existing business in Ontario.
This highly competitive, two-stage process typically begins with an online Expression of Interest (EOI). Top-scoring candidates are then invited to submit a full application, which strictly requires a comprehensive business plan.

Personal Requirements:

• Experience: At least 24 months of full-time business experience within the last 60 months as an active business owner or senior manager.
• Net Worth: A minimum personal net worth of $800,000 CAD if the business is located within the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), or $400,000 CAD if located outside the GTA.

Investment and Minimum Equity:

• Inside the GTA: A minimum initial investment of $600,000 CAD and control of at least one-third (33.3%) of the business’s equity.
• Outside the GTA: A minimum initial investment of $200,000 CAD and control of at least one-third (33.3%) of the business’s equity.

Operational Requirements:

• Active Management: Applicants must be actively involved in the day-to-day operations of the business.
• Job Creation: The business must create at least one permanent, full-time job for a Canadian citizen or permanent resident within the first 20 months of operation.
