SINP Business Immigration Streams
The SINP operates through two distinct business immigration channels. Your business plan must be explicitly tailored to the specific criteria of the stream you are applying for:
1. The SINP Entrepreneur Category
This stream is suited for foreign entrepreneurs looking to establish, acquire, or partner in a Saskatchewan-based business. The process operates on an Expression of Interest (EOI) system, where top-scoring candidates are invited to submit a detailed Business Establishment Plan (BEP).
2. The SINP Farm Owner and Operator Category
Designed specifically for agricultural enthusiasts and experienced farmers, this stream provides an opportunity to purchase and operate a commercial farm in the province. It allows Saskatchewan to benefit from the expertise of ambitious agricultural entrepreneurs, with a specific “Young Farmer Stream” available for applicants under the age of 40.
Eligibility Requirements and Conditions

Entrepreneur Category	$500,000 CAD	$300,000 CAD in Regina/Saskatoon; $200,000 CAD in all other communities.	Min. 3 years of entrepreneurial or relevant management experience. Must create at least 2 full-time jobs for Canadians if opening a new business in Regina or Saskatoon.
Farm Owner/Operator	$500,000 CAD	Must sign a performance agreement and submit a $75,000 CAD refundable good faith deposit.	Must have documented farm operation knowledge/experience and make a mandatory 5-day exploratory visit to Saskatchewan.
Young Farmer Stream	$300,000 CAD	Minimum equity investment of $150,000 CAD.	Must be under 40, have 3+ years of farming experience, and demonstrate marketable employment skills.

Business Structuring Conditions
To be eligible, the applicant must establish a sole proprietorship, partnership, or corporation that qualifies as a permanent establishment under subsection 400(2) of the Canadian Income Tax Regulations. Furthermore, the business must demonstrate significant economic benefit to the province, including the generation of local jobs.
The Application & Business Plan Process
Before applying, candidates must prepare a comprehensive business proposal outlining a detailed operational strategy. Your business plan must cover all operational, marketing, and financial aspects, identifying possible opportunities and mitigating threats within the Saskatchewan market. In short, the plan must outline every relevant step to setting up the business and achieving long-term profitability.
If the application is accepted and the Business Performance Agreement (BPA) is signed, the applicant is granted a temporary work permit to establish the business in Saskatchewan. Once the candidate successfully executes the business proposal and meets the BPA conditions within the allotted time, they become eligible for provincial nomination to secure Canadian Permanent Residency.
